Physical Properties:PPS 0309P is a polyphenylene sulfide resin with a molecular weight of 4,000–5,000, density of 1.3–1.8 g/cm³ (reinforced grades up to 1.6–1.9 g/cm³), and molding shrinkage of 0.15%–0.25%. It has low dielectric constant and dielectric loss, and its surface and volume resistivity are insensitive to frequency, temperature and humidity, giving excellent electrical insulation. It shows good chemical stability, is insoluble in any known organic solvent below 175°C, and resists most acids, alkalis and salts, but is attacked by strong oxidizing media such as concentrated sulfuric acid, concentrated nitric acid and aqua regia. It also has excellent radiation resistance up to 1×10⁸ Gy and outstanding flame retardancy, passing UL-94 V-0 at 0.8 mm thickness. Its long-term service temperature is about 260°C, and it remains stable in air or nitrogen at 400°C.
Uses:Suitable for high-temperature and stress-bearing applications, it is used to manufacture chemical reactor linings, pipes, valves, pump casings, impellers and other wear-resistant structural parts, as well as PPS pipes and sheets. In electrical and electronic applications, it is used for transformer bobbins, coil skeletons, plugs, sockets, relays, contactors and terminal blocks. It is also used in automotive functional parts and protective coatings/components of household appliances.
