Physical Properties:Santoprene™ TPV (Thermoplastic Vulcanizate) is a thermoplastic elastomer blend composed of EPDM rubber and polypropylene produced by dynamic vulcanization. It exhibits excellent elasticity and toughness, allowing rapid recovery after deformation and resistance to fracture under large strains. The material offers outstanding abrasion resistance and maintains durability under prolonged use in various environments. It demonstrates good weather resistance and ozone resistance, withstanding UV radiation and ozone attack. Certain grades possess excellent high-temperature resistance, maintaining stability without softening at elevated temperatures. The material also exhibits outstanding chemical resistance to acids, alkalis, oils, solvents and various chemical media. It processes well on conventional thermoplastic injection molding equipment, producing smooth and fine surface finishes. It is environmentally friendly and recyclable, free from heavy metals, PBB and PBDE.
Uses:Widely used in automotive, electrical/electronic, home appliance, construction and medical device industries. In the automotive sector, it is used for under-hood components such as engine parts and powertrain components operating in high-temperature environments, as well as seals, rubber boots and anti-vibration pads, and is also commonly used in outdoor equipment.
