Physical Properties:PBT is a highly crystalline thermoplastic polyester with a high melting point (about 225°C), low water absorption and low thermal expansion coefficient, resulting in excellent dimensional stability. It also has excellent electrical insulation, with little change in electrical properties due to moisture absorption and high insulation voltage. Density is about 1.31 g/cm³ and it has good resistance to chemical solvents.
Uses:Suitable for modified PBT systems such as glass bead reinforced, glass fiber/mineral filled, glass fiber reinforced flame-retardant grades. Widely used in electronic components such as connectors, small switches and capacitor housings; office machine parts such as keyboards and VTR components; automotive electronic parts and exterior door handles; also applied in medical devices, building materials, precision machinery and other fields.
Technical Specifications:
Drying: 6-8 h at 120°C or 2-4 h at 150°C; moisture content must be less than 0.03%.
Melting temperature: 225-275°C, recommended 250°C.
Mold temperature: 40-60°C for unreinforced grades.
Injection pressure: medium, up to 1500 bar.
Injection speed: use as fast as possible because PBT solidifies quickly.
