Uses:Used as an organic synthesis intermediate; oxidation yields azelaic acid, ammonification/hydrogenation yields nonylamine, and pressurized hydrogenation yields nonanol. Used in production of nonanoate plasticizers, paint dryers, detergent intermediates, and polyol esters for fiber and jet turbine lubricants. Also used as a food flavoring agent in coconut and berry flavor formulations.
