Soluble in toluene, hexane and other organic solvents, slightly soluble in aliphatic hydrocarbons. Melting point approximately 100–105°C (decomposition), stable at room temperature, decomposes upon exposure to water or air.
Uses:Used as a metallocene catalyst main component or cocatalyst component in olefin polymerization, suitable for polymerization and copolymerization of α-olefins such as ethylene and propylene. Also serves as a methylating reagent in organic synthesis and as an organometallic titanium intermediate.
