Uses:Used as a halogen-free flame retardant in rubber, plastics and cables; used to manufacture asbestos-free thermal insulation materials, refractory materials and protective layers for nuclear reactor containment in nuclear power plants; serves as a neutralizer, adsorbent for acidic wastewater and an agent for flue gas desulfurization; also used as papermaking filler, welding electrode coating, and in production of light-burned and dead-burned magnesia.
