Uses:Used as a PEGylation reagent. The thiol group selectively reacts with maleimide, gold surfaces, or thioanhydrides, widely applied in site-specific conjugation of proteins, peptides, and drugs, as well as surface functionalization of nanomaterials. Also used in preparing biodegradable block copolymers and targeted drug delivery systems.
