Physical Properties:White crystalline powder or granules, odorless, bitter taste, readily soluble in water, slightly soluble in ethanol, insoluble in acetone. Relative density about 2.57. When heated above 150°C, it gradually loses water of crystallization and finally decomposes into magnesium oxide and sulfur oxides.
Uses:Mainly used as agricultural magnesium fertilizer for magnesium-deficient soils to promote crop photosynthesis. Also used as a feed additive to supply magnesium and sulfur to livestock. In industry, it is used in the manufacture of magnesium salts, papermaking, textiles, and ceramics.
