Freely soluble in ethanol, diethyl ether, acetone and other organic solvents; slightly soluble in water; readily hydrolyzed under acidic or alkaline conditions.
Uses:Used as an organic synthesis intermediate for the preparation of sulfur-containing heterocyclic compounds, pharmaceutical and agrochemical active molecules. It is also employed in the synthesis of specialty dyes and rubber additives.
