Physical Properties:Reddish-brown crystalline powder, readily soluble in water, ethanol and acetone, slightly soluble in hydrochloric acid, insoluble in diethyl ether. Hygroscopic in air, loses water of crystallization upon heating. Stable under sealed dry storage at room temperature.
Uses:Mainly used as a homogeneous catalyst in organic synthesis, such as catalyzing the reduction of cinnamaldehyde and coupling reactions of arylboronic acids. It is also used as a catalyst for the conversion of methane to acetic acid, and plays an important role in fine chemical and pharmaceutical intermediate synthesis.
