It decomposes under acidic conditions and is stable under normal storage conditions.
Uses:Used as a feed additive to effectively prevent coccidiosis in chickens and promote growth in cattle and pigs. As an ionophore antibiotic, it alters cell membrane ion permeability and interferes with microbial metabolism. It is also commonly used in veterinary formulations and in microbiological and pharmacological research.
