Physical Properties:Poly(glycidyl methacrylate) is a white to pale yellow powder or granule with reactive epoxy groups on its molecular chains. The molecular weight of the repeating unit (monomer) is 142.15, while the polymer molecular weight varies with the degree of polymerization. It is soluble in organic solvents such as acetone, tetrahydrofuran, dichloromethane and toluene, and insoluble in water and ethanol. Its glass transition temperature is approximately 70–75°C and its relative density is about 1.08 g/cm³ at 25°C. It exhibits good thermal stability and begins to decompose above 250°C.

Uses:Used as an active component in epoxy resin modifiers, functional coatings and adhesives; its epoxy groups undergo crosslinking reactions with amine and anhydride curing agents, imparting excellent adhesion and chemical resistance. It also serves as a reactive polymeric intermediate for preparing amphiphilic block copolymers, enzyme immobilization carriers and electron-beam/UV photoresist resins.
