Physical Properties:At room temperature and pressure, it is a colorless, odorless, non-toxic, non-flammable inert gas with a density of approximately 6.17 g/L (about 5 times that of air). Melting point -50.8°C (sublimation), boiling point -63.8°C (sublimation), critical temperature 45.6°C, critical pressure 3.76 MPa. It has excellent insulating and arc-extinguishing properties, is chemically very stable, slightly soluble in water, and soluble in ethanol and ether.
Uses:Mainly used as insulating and arc-extinguishing medium in high-voltage circuit breakers, GIS switchgear, transformers and other power equipment; in industry, used for leak detection, protective gas for metal smelting and laser equipment; in electronics, used in semiconductor etching processes and as protective gas for electronic equipment.
