Physical Properties:Dark red powder. Soluble in water giving a red solution; slightly soluble in ethanol giving an orange-red solution. It has substantivity for cellulosic fibers, turns deep blue in concentrated sulfuric acid and changes to violet-red upon dilution.
Uses:Mainly used for dyeing cellulose fibers such as cotton and viscose; also applicable to silk and nylon. It can be applied directly or used in shading in textile printing and dyeing, as well as for coloring paper and leather.
