It is soluble in ethanol, methanol, acetone and dilute alkali solutions, slightly soluble in water, and insoluble in chloroform and petroleum ether. It shows yellow fluorescence under UV light and gives a green color with ferric chloride.
Uses:Scutellarein is a naturally occurring flavonoid with antioxidant, anti-inflammatory and antibacterial activities. It can be used in pharmacological research and new drug development for anti-inflammatory and anti-tumor applications, and can also serve as a reference standard for natural product analysis.
