It is insoluble in water and soluble in ethanol, ether, acetone and other organic solvents, with good oxidation stability.
Uses:Isostearic acid is a branched-chain saturated fatty acid widely used as an oil-phase base material in cosmetics and personal care products, providing good spreadability and mildness. It is also used in synthetic ester lubricants, metalworking fluids, rust-preventive oils and premium soaps, offering excellent oxidation stability and low-temperature performance.
