Physical Properties:Blue powder with bright shade, insoluble in water and most organic solvents; density about 2.35-2.40 g/cm³, melting point above 1000°C, excellent heat resistance; good light fastness, alkali resistance and weather resistance, but decomposes in acids with discoloration and release of hydrogen sulfide.
Uses:Widely used for blue coloring of paints, printing inks, plastics, rubber, coatings and synthetic resins; also used in artists' pigments, cosmetics and architectural coatings. As an inorganic ultramarine pigment, it imparts bright blue shades to products with good lightfastness and stability.
