Physical Properties:Light yellow transparent viscous liquid with a characteristic odor. Density 1.13–1.31 g/cm³, flash point 235°C, refractive index 1.5689–1.5728, glass transition temperature -76 to -40°C, brittle point -65 to -55°C, service temperature -55 to 100°C, molecular weight 800–6000. Exhibits excellent resistance to oil, solvents, acids, alkalis, seawater corrosion, UV radiation and high-energy radiation, as well as outstanding gas tightness, low-temperature flexibility, and good adhesion to metals and non-metals. Low shrinkage after vulcanization, excellent atmospheric aging resistance, service life up to 25 years, and good compatibility with epoxy resins.
Uses:Liquid polysulfide rubber is an oligomer terminated with thiol (-SH) groups, curable at room temperature with metal oxides for convenient use. It is widely applied in insulating glass, construction, aviation, aerospace, marine, electromechanical instruments, automotive, railway, water conservancy and petrochemical industries. It is used for sealing and bonding of curtain wall structures in high-rise buildings and expansion joints of prefabricated assembled exterior walls, providing waterproofing, shock resistance, dust resistance, atmospheric aging resistance, strong adhesion and long service life. It is also used for sealing joints of highways and airport runways, concrete joints, waterproof isolation layers and bridge deck expansion joint isolation layers.
