Soluble in dimethyl sulfoxide, N,N-dimethylformamide and other highly polar solvents; slightly soluble in methanol and ethanol; hardly soluble in water. Contains amino and sulfonamide groups, weakly alkaline, can form salts with acids. Stable under normal temperature and pressure; avoid contact with strong oxidizers, strong acids and strong bases.
Uses:Used as an organic synthesis intermediate, mainly for the preparation of thiazole-containing biologically active compounds such as certain antibacterial agents and enzyme inhibitors. It is also employed as a key building block in pharmaceutical chemistry for drug discovery and fine chemical synthesis.
