Physical Properties:This product is a yellow to dark brown transparent solid or viscous liquid, prepared by polycondensation of rosin with formaldehyde, glycerol, octylphenol and polymerized rosin. It has a relatively high softening point, good compatibility and film-forming properties. It is soluble in aromatic hydrocarbons, esters, ketones and other organic solvents, and insoluble in water. It exhibits good thermal stability and resistance to acids and alkalis.
Uses:Mainly used as a film-forming resin in inks, coatings and adhesives, it significantly improves the gloss, hardness, adhesion and water resistance of the film. It is also used in the preparation of rosin-modified phenolic resin linkers for printing inks.
