Uses:Sulfometuron-methyl is a sulfonylurea herbicide that inhibits acetolactate synthase (ALS), thereby blocking the biosynthesis of branched-chain amino acids (valine, leucine, isoleucine) in plants. It is mainly used in non-crop areas, forest land, railway and highway rights-of-way, and industrial sites for the control of annual and perennial grasses, sedges and broadleaf weeds, as well as certain shrubs and woody plants. It possesses both foliar and soil activity and provides a relatively long lasting effect.
