Undergoes violent hydrolysis upon contact with water or moisture, releasing hydrogen chloride gas and forming condensed methylsilanediol. The Si-Cl bond is highly reactive towards compounds with active hydrogen such as alcohols and amines, and can participate in hydrosilylation reactions. Flammable and corrosive hazardous material.
Uses:Primarily used for the preparation of hydrogen-containing silicone oil, serving as an important monomer in the synthesis of organosilicon materials.
