Physical Properties:White crystalline powder or granules with a slightly salty taste. It melts with decomposition at about 63°C. Density approx. 1.73 g/cm³. Freely soluble in water; the aqueous solution is alkaline (pH 9.9-10.3 for a 30 g/L solution). Insoluble in ethanol and ether. It decomposes upon heating or in moist air, releasing active oxygen.
Uses:Similar to sodium percarbonate, it is an excellent oxygen-based bleaching agent widely used in detergents and textile printing and dyeing. Due to its good stability and high active oxygen content, it avoids fabric damage and yellowing caused by chlorine bleaches. It is also used as an oxidizing agent for indanthrene dye development, degreasing agent, disinfectant and bactericide in medicine, detergent additive, deodorant, electroplating additive, analytical reagent, and polymerization agent in organic synthesis.
