- 白色晶体，有甜味。相对密度2.71，熔点770℃（分解）。极易溶于水，不溶于乙醇，在纯硫酸中不能溶解。常温下析出含18分子结晶水的十八水合硫酸铝，含无水硫酸铝51.3%，100℃时也不会自溶（溶于自身结晶水）。1%水溶液pH≥3.0。

Physical Properties:White crystalline solid with a sweet taste. Relative density 2.71, melting point 770°C (decomposition). Very soluble in water, insoluble in ethanol, and not soluble in pure sulfuric acid. At room temperature, it crystallizes with 18 molecules of water of crystallization as aluminum sulfate octadecahydrate, containing 51.3% anhydrous aluminum sulfate. It does not self-dissolve (dissolve in its own water of crystallization) even at 100°C. pH of 1% aqueous solution ≥3.0.
Uses:Used in the paper industry as a paper sizing agent to enhance water resistance and impermeability; in water treatment, it serves as a flocculant and coagulant to agglomerate fine particles and colloidal matter for sedimentation. It is also used in the manufacture of alum, alumina white, synthetic gems, and high-grade ammonium alum, as well as in foam fire extinguisher compositions, petroleum decolorizing and deodorizing agents, cosmetic astringents, and pharmaceutical raw materials.
