Physical Properties:Dark brown powder, readily soluble in water giving a brown solution; slightly soluble in ethanol and acetone, insoluble in non-polar organic solvents. Turns deep blue in concentrated sulfuric acid and reverts to brown upon dilution. Exhibits good resistance to acids, alkalis, and light.
Uses:Primarily used for dyeing and printing of protein fibers such as wool, silk, and polyamide fibers, as well as for leather dyeing. It produces a brown shade with good leveling properties and high color fastness.
