Uses:Cefteram pivoxil is a prodrug of the third-generation oral cephalosporin antibiotic cefteram. After oral administration, it is hydrolyzed by esterases in the body to the active form cefteram. It has broad-spectrum antibacterial activity against both Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria and is used clinically for the treatment of respiratory tract infections, urinary and reproductive tract infections, skin and soft tissue infections caused by susceptible organisms.
