Physical Properties:Nylon 12 is a semi-crystalline thermoplastic polyamide with the lowest density among commercially available polyamides (approx. 1.01-1.04 g/cm³), low water absorption and excellent dimensional stability. It offers high impact strength, good weatherability, excellent chemical resistance, good wear resistance and surface slip characteristics, retaining toughness at low temperatures. It also provides good gas barrier properties, a melting point of about 178-180°C, a wide continuous service temperature range and good electrical insulation.
Uses:Nylon 12 is widely used in the manufacture of oil pipes, hoses, cable sheaths, fiber optic loose tubes, steel wire sheaths and other tubing and sheathing products. It is also suitable for gears, bearings, precision parts, films, metal surface protective coatings and other engineering applications. Various VESTAMID grades meet specific requirements such as fuel lines, air brake hoses, hydraulic hoses, high-temperature diesel lines, conductive oil delivery pipes and flame-retardant cable insulation.
