Physical Properties:PA6 is a semi-transparent or opaque milky-white thermoplastic resin with a molecular weight of 15,000–20,000. It is flame-retardant, wear-resistant, and electrically insulating, with high tensile strength (about 60–90 MPa) and good heat resistance. Melting point is approximately 220°C, melt flow is high, relative density is 1.05–1.15, and water absorption is relatively high. The resin itself is non-toxic.
Uses:Widely used to manufacture bearings, gears, cams, pulleys, pump impellers, fan blades, screws, nuts, gaskets, high-pressure sealing rings, oil delivery pipes, cable sheaths and other mechanical and electrical components. In the automotive industry, it is valued for its mechanical strength, wear resistance, oil resistance and self-lubricating properties, and is used for bearings, gears, oil pipes, oil reservoirs, oil-resistant gaskets, protective covers, fans, air filter housings and radiator tanks, contributing to lightweight and energy-saving vehicles. DuPont Zytel®ST801 is a super-tough PA6 grade suitable for impact-resistant automotive parts, power tool housings, fasteners and appliance structural parts.
