Physical Properties:Milky white, translucent to opaque crystalline thermoplastic polyester reinforced with 30% glass fiber. Density about 1.53 g/cm³, melting point 225°C, water absorption about 0.1%; high heat resistance, toughness, fatigue resistance, self-lubrication, low friction coefficient, good weathering resistance and electrical insulation, with properties retained in humid environments. Resistant to hot water, alkalis, acids and oils, but susceptible to halogenated hydrocarbons and has relatively poor hydrolysis resistance. Mold shrinkage about 0.3% longitudinally and 1% transversely; suitable for long-term service at 140°C, not readily combustible, self-extinguishes within about 5 seconds after removal from flame, with no molten dripping.
Uses:Widely used in electronic and electrical appliances, automotive parts, mechanical components and household products, especially for structural parts requiring high rigidity, high heat resistance, dimensional stability and good electrical insulation. It can be used to produce connectors, coil bobbins, relays, automotive interior parts and industrial machine parts.
