Density 1.30 g/cm³ (ISO 1183); tensile strength 100 MPa (ISO 527-2, 23°C); elongation at break 15% (ISO 527-2, 23°C); tensile modulus 3700 MPa (ISO 527-2, 23°C); flexural strength 170 MPa (ISO 178, 23°C); flexural modulus 4100 MPa (ISO 178, 23°C); Izod notched impact strength 4.5 kJ/m² (ISO 180/1A, 23°C); glass transition temperature 143°C (ISO 11357-2); melting temperature 343°C (ISO 11357-3). Injection moulding conditions: drying temperature 120-150°C for 3-5 hours; barrel rear/middle/front temperatures 365/370/380°C; nozzle temperature 385°C; mould temperature 180-210°C.
Uses:Suitable for food-contact applications and the automotive industry, processed by moulding. It offers excellent corrosion resistance, ageing resistance, hydrolysis resistance, radiation resistance and wear resistance, remains stable under high temperature and high pressure, and combines toughness with rigidity, good antistatic and electrical insulation properties. It can replace metal as a lightweight material for optical fibre components and is also suitable for parts requiring high dimensional precision, high mechanical strength, and low smoke and toxic gas emission.
