Physical Properties:It is an off-white or light yellow crystalline solid with a density of about 1.41-1.43 g/cm³, melting point of approximately 165-175°C (homopolymer about 175°C, copolymer about 165°C), low water absorption, low friction coefficient, excellent wear resistance, creep resistance and dimensional stability, and resistance to organic solvents and weak acids/alkalis.
Uses:POM has a very low friction coefficient and good dimensional stability, making it especially suitable for gears and bearings. Due to its high-temperature resistance and good mechanical properties, it is also used in pipe valves, pump housings, lawn equipment, and widely in automotive parts, electronic appliances, and precision mechanical parts.
Technical Specifications:
Drying: if stored in a dry environment, drying is usually not required.
Melt temperature: 190-230°C for homopolymer, 190-210°C for copolymer.
Mold temperature: 80-105°C; higher mold temperature helps reduce post-molding shrinkage.
Injection pressure: 700-1200 bar; injection speed should be medium to high.
Runners and gates: any type of gate can be used; for tunnel gates, a short type is recommended. Hot nozzle runner is suggested for homopolymer, while both internal and external hot runners are acceptable for copolymer.
