Physical Properties:White, hard and brittle, with metallic sound when dropped on the floor. Light transmittance is second only to acrylic, with excellent colorability, water resistance and chemical stability. It has excellent electrical insulation (especially high-frequency insulation) and flame retardancy, being a non-flammable plastic. It has moderate strength but very good rigidity, yet it is brittle and prone to stress cracking, and is not resistant to benzene, gasoline and other solvents. Long-term service temperature can reach 260°C, and it remains stable in air or nitrogen at 400°C. When modified with glass fiber or other reinforcing materials, impact strength is greatly improved, along with enhanced heat resistance and mechanical properties.
Uses:Suitable for making heat-resistant parts, insulating parts, chemical instruments, optical instruments and other components. Widely used in aerospace, chemical, electronic and electrical, machinery, automotive and railway industries for manufacturing high-strength, high-temperature resistant, insulating aviation components, anti-corrosion valves, precision electrical connectors, high-strength housings, high-temperature resistant contactors, as well as motor parts, terminals, carburetors, distributors, igniters, sliders and brake system solenoid valves used in harsh environments.
