It has excellent chemical stability, resisting concentrated acids, alkalis, strong oxidizers and almost all solvents; extremely low coefficient of friction (about 0.05-0.1), low surface tension and non-stick characteristics; dielectric constant of about 2.1 with low dielectric loss and outstanding electrical insulation.
Uses:PTFE is widely used in chemical, petroleum, textile, food, papermaking, medical, electronic and mechanical industries. Specific applications include corrosion-resistant piping, valves and reaction equipment linings, high-temperature corrosion-resistant seals, oil-free lubricated bearings and sliding blocks in applications where lubricants fail, electrical insulation materials for micro motors, capacitors and insulated cables, as well as non-stick coatings for cookware and expanded PTFE materials for medical repair.
