Physical Properties:This product is an aqueous solution containing soluble calcium salts such as calcium gluconate. It appears as a clear, colorless liquid and is miscible with water. It has a near-neutral pH and is chemically stable. Upon contact with hydrofluoric acid, the calcium ions combine with free fluoride ions to form insoluble calcium fluoride, thereby reducing acid corrosiveness and fluoride toxicity and preventing hydrofluoric acid from penetrating into tissues.
Uses:It is used for emergency rinsing of the eyes or skin after splashes of hydrofluoric acid and its acidic derivatives. It eliminates or alleviates the corrosive effect of the acid and the toxicity of fluoride while preventing hydrofluoric acid and acidic derivatives from penetrating into skin tissue, reducing the risk of chemical burns.
