Physical Properties:White powder or granules, a copolymer of styrene and maleic anhydride. Soluble in alkaline aqueous solutions and organic solvents such as alcohols and ketones; after neutralization with alkali, it shows varying degrees of water solubility. The molecular chain contains anhydride groups, enabling hydrolysis, esterification, amidation, etc. It has good heat resistance and film-forming properties.
Uses:Used in the preparation of heat-resistant varnishes, polish and heat-resistant emulsion polymers; applicable in alkali-resistant and water-resistant cationic emulsions, ultrafine particle-size wax emulsions and rosin emulsions; as a film-forming resin in water-based floor polish emulsions to improve water resistance; also used as a pigment dispersant and surface treatment agent, widely applied in electronic materials, leather, functional plastics, papermaking and powder coatings.
