Physical Properties:Santoprene® 8281-75MED is a medical-grade thermoplastic vulcanizate (TPV) based on a blend of EPDM rubber and polypropylene. It is supplied as black or natural pellets with a Shore A hardness of 75 and a density of approximately 0.96 g/cm³. It offers good elasticity, chemical resistance and fatigue resistance, with a service temperature range of -60°C to 135°C. It can be sterilized by steam, ethylene oxide or gamma radiation and meets USP Class VI and ISO 10993 biocompatibility requirements.
Uses:It is primarily used for single-use medical devices (syringes, examination instruments, medical catheters), permanently implantable medical devices, and biocompatible wire and cable jacketing. It is also suitable for seals, gaskets and tubing in Class II/III medical devices that contact human tissue or body fluids.
