Physical Properties:Grafted polar polymer in the form of white or light yellow granules/flakes. Density is approximately 0.92-0.96 g/cm³, melt flow index can be selected from 0.5-50 g/10min depending on the grade, and softening point is about 100-110°C. It exhibits excellent chemical stability, withstanding hydrochloric acid, hydrofluoric acid, phosphoric acid and other chemicals at room temperature, but is attacked by strong oxidizing acids. The anhydride groups impart polarity, enabling reactions with polymers containing amino, hydroxyl and other functional groups.
Uses:Mainly used as a coextrusion adhesive for bonding polyolefins with nylon, EVOH and metals; as a compatibilizer for polyolefin/nylon systems and a toughening agent for nylon; also as a coupling agent between inorganic fillers, flame retardants and polyethylene. It is further applied in anticorrosion coatings for pipes, hot-melt adhesive films and plastic modification.
