Physical Properties:PA12 is a linear semi-crystalline thermoplastic material derived from butadiene, similar to PA11 in characteristics but with a different crystal structure. It has a density of about 1.01–1.05 g/cm³ and a melting point of about 178°C. It exhibits excellent electrical insulation unaffected by moisture, good impact resistance and chemical stability, but poor resistance to strong oxidizing acids. It has good flowability, a molding shrinkage of 0.5%–2%, and its viscosity is affected by humidity, temperature, and storage time.
Uses:It is mainly used to manufacture wear-resistant, high-transparency eyeglass frames, combining transparency, toughness, and abrasion resistance. It is also widely used in water meters, commercial equipment, cable sleeves, mechanical cams, sliding mechanisms, photovoltaic backsheets, and bearings. Its good flowability and dimensional stability make it suitable for precision injection molding.
