Physical Properties:PA6 (polycaprolactam) is a semi-crystalline thermoplastic with a density of about 1.12–1.14 g/cm³, high water absorption (saturated water absorption about 3.5%), melting point about 220°C, good mechanical strength, wear resistance and chemical resistance. With glass fiber reinforcement, rigidity, heat resistance and dimensional stability are significantly improved.

Uses:Mainly used for automotive parts, electronic and electrical components, and sports equipment, suitable for injection molded products requiring high strength, high rigidity and good dimensional stability.

Technical Specifications:

Drying: if humidity is greater than 0.2%, dry in hot air above 80°C for 16 hours; if exposed to air for more than 8 hours, vacuum dry at 105°C for more than 8 hours.

Melting temperature: 230-280°C (250-280°C for reinforced grades).

Mold temperature: 80-90°C, for glass fiber reinforced materials mold temperature should be above 80°C; for wall thickness over 3 mm, a low mold temperature of 20-40°C is recommended.

Injection pressure: 750-1250 bar; injection speed: high, slightly lower for reinforced materials.

Runners and gates: gate diameter not less than 0.5 times wall thickness; submarine gate minimum diameter 0.75 mm; hot runner gates should be smaller than conventional runner gates.
