Physical Properties:Melting point 220–230°C, crystallizes faster than PET. Stable mechanical properties, with tensile strength and tensile modulus similar to nylon; low friction coefficient and self-lubricating; low water absorption; excellent electrical properties; good dimensional stability; resistant to chemicals and oils. Outstanding thermal aging resistance, with UL temperature index of 120–140°C when reinforced; good solvent resistance with no stress cracking; PBT is susceptible to hydrolysis, caution is required in high-temperature, high-humidity environments; good compatibility with flame retardants.
Uses:Used in electronic and electrical applications such as no-fuse circuit breakers, electromagnetic switches, flyback transformers, appliance handles, connectors and housings. Used in automotive components including door handles, bumpers, distributor caps, fenders, wire harness protectors and wheel covers. Also used in industrial parts such as OA fans, keyboards, fishing reel components and lamp shades.
