Physical Properties:Polycarbonate (PC) is a colorless transparent or slightly yellow transparent solid with a density of about 1.20 g/cm³, a light transmittance of 88%–90%, and excellent impact resistance, creep resistance and dimensional stability. Its glass transition temperature is about 150°C, heat distortion temperature about 130°C, and long-term service temperature ranges from -60°C to 120°C. It is soluble in chlorinated solvents such as dichloromethane and chloroform, and insoluble in water, alcohols and aliphatic hydrocarbons.
Uses:Used for composition testing of PC and PC alloy materials in automotive headlamps, bumpers, door handles, instrument panels, radiator grilles, in-vehicle audio and DVD systems and other parts. It covers high-impact PC/PBT 1030 alloy, weatherable PC/ASA 1025 alloy, PC/ABS A2200 alloy and electroplatable PC/ABS A2200MP grades, and is suitable for material identification, quality control and process evaluation.
Technical Specifications:
Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy is used to identify PC and PC/PBT, PC/ASA, PC/ABS blend components.
Compositional features corresponding to high impact resistance, excellent weatherability and heat resistance can be detected.
Grades with special surface properties such as electroplatable PC/ABS A2200MP can be distinguished.
Samples can be pellets, injection molded parts or sheets; surface coatings or contaminants should be removed before testing.
