Physical Properties:Polycarbonate (PC) is an amorphous thermoplastic, supplied as transparent or slightly yellow pellets. It has a density of approximately 1.19 g/cm³, a glass transition temperature of about 147°C, a melting temperature of 220-230°C, and decomposes above 300°C. It is sparingly soluble in water, soluble in halogenated hydrocarbons such as dichloromethane and chloroform, and stable to dilute acids and alkalis. It exhibits excellent impact toughness, dimensional stability, and electrical insulation, with good weatherability. The UV-stabilized grade is suitable for outdoor applications.
Uses:Used to produce polycarbonate sheets such as solid sheets, multi-wall sheets, and corrugated sheets. Also applied in other extruded sheets and PC panels. With UV resistance, it is suitable for outdoor building daylighting, roofing, and noise barriers.
