Physical Properties:PC/PBT 5220U is a UV-stabilized polymer alloy based on polycarbonate (PC) and polybutylene terephthalate (PBT). It has a density of 1.21–1.22 g/cm³ and a melt flow rate of 16 g/10 min (250°C/5.0 kg). Mold shrinkage is 0.8–1.0% in the flow direction and 0.8–1.1% in the transverse direction. Water absorption is low (0.50% saturated, 0.15% at 50% RH equilibrium), providing excellent impact toughness, dimensional stability, and outdoor weatherability. Its outdoor suitability rating is UL 746C F2.
Uses:It is mainly used for automotive exterior parts, lawn and garden equipment, electrical/electronic devices, appliances, electronic displays, household goods, industrial products, construction, sports equipment, medical/nursing care products, and lighting. It is especially suitable for parts exposed to long-term outdoor conditions that require UV resistance, impact strength, and good dimensional stability. It can be processed by injection molding and sheet extrusion.
