Physical Properties:POM 500P is a homopolymer acetal resin available in natural and black pellet forms. It has a density of 1.42 g/cm³, molding shrinkage of approx. 2.3%, tensile strength of 69 MPa, flexural strength of 97 MPa, and notched Izod impact strength of 81 J/m. It features high strength, high rigidity, excellent fatigue resistance, good creep resistance and dimensional stability, medium viscosity, ultrasonic weldability, good organic solvent resistance, and excellent self-lubricating properties. The processing temperature range is narrow (190–215°C); decomposition occurs above 220°C with evolution of formaldehyde gas. Mold temperature is 80–100°C; the material has relatively high molding shrinkage and tends to sink marks or warpage, so medium pressure, medium speed, lower melt temperature and higher mold temperature are recommended.
Uses:Used for general mechanical parts, gears, cams, pipes, zippers, fasteners, engineering fittings, sheets, cast films, wires and cables. It can replace most non-ferrous metals and is widely applied in automotive parts, machine tools, internal instrument components, bearings, fasteners, gears, spring plates, conveyor belt accessories, electric kettles, pump housings, drainers, faucets and similar products.
