Physical Properties:Polyphenylene oxide (PPO) is a high-performance engineering plastic with outstanding electrical insulation and excellent water resistance. It features extremely low water absorption, good dimensional stability, and dielectric properties among the best of all plastics. The glass transition temperature is 211°C, melting point is 268°C, and decomposition tendency occurs at 330°C. Higher PPO content leads to better heat resistance, with heat deflection temperature reaching 190°C. It has good flame retardancy with self-extinguishing characteristics, and medium flammability when blended with HIPS. It exhibits excellent mechanical properties, low mold shrinkage, good chemical resistance, outstanding steam sterilization resistance, and high toughness. It can be modified by blending with ABS, HDPE, PPS, PA, HIPS, and glass fiber.
Uses:Suitable for heat-resistant parts, insulating parts, wear-reducing and abrasion-resistant parts, transmission parts, medical and electronic components. It can be used for gears, fan blades, valves and other parts operating at elevated temperatures, serving as a substitute for stainless steel. It is also applicable for screws, fasteners, connectors, and electrical parts of motors, rotors, housings, and transformers, as well as power tool components.
