Physical Properties:Torlon®AI is a soluble polyamide-imide resin supplied in powder form, featuring excellent toughness, chemical resistance, and thermal stability. Its thermal performance is comparable to many polyimides but at a lower cost. The resin is inherently non-flammable, exhibits outstanding electrical insulation properties, and maintains excellent temperature stability from low temperatures up to 300°C. Certain grades comply with FDA standards. Coatings based on AI polymers cure to form durable, wear-resistant, and thermally stable films.
Uses:Torlon®AI is primarily used in electrical/electronic insulating coatings, high-temperature decorative coatings, anti-corrosion coatings, wire enamels, non-stick cookware coatings, and industrial low-friction coatings. It is also employed as a high-temperature adhesive. Its coatings demonstrate excellent adhesion and enhanced scratch resistance in boiling brine tests.
Technical Specifications:

Soluble in dipolar aprotic solvents such as NMP, DMAC, DMF, and DMSO.
Casting solutions are thermally cured at 250-300°C (480-570°F).
