Physical Properties:TPU is a thermoplastic polyurethane elastomer with a wide hardness range (Shore A60 to Shore D80) and an elastic modulus of 10–1000 MPa, combining the high elasticity of rubber with the high strength of plastics. It remains flexible over a service temperature range of -40°C to 120°C, and retains good elasticity and flexibility even at -35°C. It offers excellent resistance to oils (mineral oils, animal and vegetable oils, and lubricants), water, mold, weathering, and high-energy radiation. It also exhibits outstanding abrasion resistance, tear strength, and flexural fatigue resistance, along with high tensile strength, high elongation, and low permanent compression set. Density is approximately 1.10–1.25 g/cm³.
Uses:TPU is widely used in shoe materials (soles, heels), tubing (pneumatic hoses, hydraulic hoses), films and sheets, wire and cable jacketing, automotive components, seals, and shock-absorbing parts. It has excellent processability and can be processed by common thermoplastic methods such as injection molding, extrusion, and calendering, and can also be blended with other polymers to form performance-complementary polymer alloys.
